She said that while people are having them to show their children the miracle of birth, that they should be showing them the miracle of death since they decided to give them the job of killing the puppies.

Good shock tactic!

Now lets really do something to make a difference.

1. Stop anonymous drops offs. Station an overnight worker and park animal control trucks out front to keep this from happening. Obviously take the cages inside.

2. Next have the people who wasnt to drop them off READ OUT LOUD a paper stating that they understand that the pound is NOT an adoption agency for their dogs/cats and as such within 72 hours they will be KILLED.

3. Next impose a fee of $20 each to dispose of the animals for them. This can be in the document they are reading out loud.

4. Make it clear that names and address and ID will be taken and if they continue to breed for frivilous purposes, that larger fines will be incurred.

Frankly you are being entirely too nice about the whole thing. People no long want to take responsibilty for their own actions. It used to be they would at least take the time to run an ad for free puppies and kittens. Or go on a street corner and give them away. Now with the terror tactics given out by rescue groups wanting re-homing fee's to be asked for, that few people even bother running ads now. And as a result make the pound a dumping ground for their unwanted animals. Believe me there are not hoards of people who own snakes or birds of prey that feed the babies too. The same with dog fighters. Sure there are a few, but don't you think they can breed their own fodder for their 'hobbies'. I mean really GROW UP!

I would hardly worry about these animals being dumped off in the desert as a result of the hardcore tactics I suggest. They are dead anyway once they hit the pound doors. Being killed by them is no more humane than being dumped off. At least they stand a chance in the wild. DEAD is DEAD either way.Arsinoe Sarione Ptolemyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16465781985539391536noreply@blogger.com
